For the past 35 years, The ReAlignment Team has been active in all forms of construction and business dispute resolution. Our principals have been active in developing and implementing the entire range of traditional and alternative dispute resolution processes including partnering, mediation, arbitration, facilitation, construction litigation, intervention, conciliation, business collaboration, dispute resolution boards and other methods of addressing claims.
We have specific experience in the management of large scale, multi-party construction disputes including many disputes involving public owners and public-private partnerships. From that experience, we developed a three-tiered approach to managing disputes on large scale projects: (a) pro-active partnering and risk-assessment programs that anticipate major disputes before they erupt; (b) programs for tracking risks on projects to insure on time and on budget completion of the project; and (c) intervention processes to resolve major construction disputes arising mid-project that threaten to stop or cause great damage to a project.
In addition to providing resolution and risk-avoidance programs, we also teach resolution techniques and team building skills to groups, organizations and public entities that work on large scale projects of all types, and in varying departments and firms.
The original Project ReAlignmentTM process is a method of resolving deep-seated construction disputes on large projects, especially those involving multiple parties. It is used when direct negotiation has failed, and the parties realize that fighting claims through litigation or arbitration is a lose-lose proposition. It realigns the parties' interests, systems, and resources to Wipe the Slate CleanTM and get the project back on track. With tens of millions of disputed dollars at stake, Project ReAlignmentTM has successfully transformed nearly 40 projects ranging in size from $10 million to over $100 million.
